Greetings from Lexington, KY!
I’m Rowena Mahloch —
Social Justice Advocate, Radio Show Host, & Writer
For over 10 years, I’ve been serving as a Community Volunteer advocating for issues focused on social and economic justice. And I also love food — whole, real food that is minimally processed, local, and sustainably farmed or raised. In April 2017, these worlds collided when I started hosting Lexington Food Justice Radio. I believe that equitable access to good, healthy food is a basic human right. So I created this website to share my work and promote an equitable food system.
Advocate
I’m a Food Justice Junkie & Real Food Geek — Wife and Fur Momma. In previous lives, I was a software engineer and a lawyer. I’ve also taken 4 Bar Exams!
Radio Host
Lexington Food Justice Radio airs every Friday, 10 - 11 am (ET) at 93.9 LPFM WLXU Lexington Community Radio. Shows are archived on SoundCloud.
Writer
I write essays about Food Justice. Then after our sweet Mato died on October 8, 2017, I started writing a memoir about him and his brothers Bexar & Nanuq.
