It's Day 3, Post 21DSD. And we're back on course. Today, we enjoyed a special treat -- Paleo pancakes with a drizzle of maple syrup and bacon. The pancakes were off limits during or detox because the recipe uses a bit of honey. But you know what?? Neither of us craved more sugar afterwards. We just enjoyed the moment! YUM - YUM

Recap of Day 20. Almost there! Samastitihi is a yoga posture. It refers to a call to action to stand in balanced stillness with equal, steady, and still attention. During this pose, our teacher cues to use this time to dedicate our practice. It can be to anyone or anything. So for the past 19 days, I have dedicated my practice to Sugar. Not to this detox. But to sugar itself -- to the power and presence it has in my life. Because if I am going to find a healthy space for it. I need to recognize AND respect sugar.

Day 19 without sugar. We got this -- no problem đŸ’ĒđŸŊ  We've been eating for energy and for life. This has been the most important lesson during our sugar-free journey. Now that we understand why nutrient dense foods are so powerful. . . . Now that we know what happens to our bodies when we eat carbs that are not synergistically balanced with nutrients. We will start making better decisions about food. Decisions that will get us back on track towards lifelong health!

Day 9 Recap. No sugar cravings today. But the cravings on Day 8 prompted me to research about why we crave sugar. I'm almost done with the research. And will share what I learn. In the meantime, please enjoy a slideshow of my herb garden. Growing your own herbs is fairly easy. I mean if I can - you can too. And a budget-friendly way to add flavor to your food. YUM!
